Printing
Introduction
[ref: http://www.hp.com/cposupport/networking/support_doc/bpj07072.html]
Printer setup in Windows XP™ is pretty much straight
forward. If you follow the instruction in the link above you should be able to set up printing on an HP TCP/IP enabled printer.
Outlined here are additional setup instructions that are unique to printing from staff computers at UIC's Daley Library.
Warning: If you are uncomfortable doing this please send a message to Lib-Sys and we will set up your printing for you. This also applies to situations where our expected results do not occur for specialized printing like Binding etc.,

This window prompts you for a Printer Name or IP
Address: and Port Name:. In order
to find the IP Address of your printer, you may have to
refer to the printer manual or print a configuration page

located the IP Address, enter the IP Address in the box
located to the right of Printer Name or IP
Address. Leave Port Name: blank,
and click Next.

have been loaded click Next.
-

-
This window allows you to give your printer a name. You can
keep the name given or change the name.
-

-
This window allows you to print a Test
Page. It is recommended that a test page is
printed to make sure everything prints correctly. If the
test page looks good, then you are successful. If the test
page did not come out correctly, try finding updated
drivers and start this process from the beginning.
