The 2005 Web-Wise Conference on Libraries and Museums in the Digital World
will be held in Washington, DC, February 17-18 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel
on Capitol Hill.
The theme this year is “Teaching and Learning with Digital Resources.”
Sessions will include presentations by educators, library and museum
professionals and information scientists on using digital library
and museum resources both in the classroom and in independent
learning environments. David Rumsey, President of Cartography
Associates and Director of Luna Imaging, will give the opening keynote
on February 17 on Open
Content: How Online Digital
Libraries and Resources Will Provide Access to Cultural Information
in the 21st Century. In addition,
exemplary digital projects supporting educators, students, and
lifelong learners will be featured in plenary sessions and break-out
demonstrations.
Two half-day pre-conferences requiring separate registration - one
on Business Planning for Digital Assets Management in Cultural
Heritage Resources and one on Planning and Implementing User Studies - will
be offered on February 16.
