The Resource Center provides our training staff and affiliated health professionals with a collection of videotapes, curriculum modules, training program guides, slide sets, and periodicals to extend their understanding of HIV/AIDS.

MATEC has developed and produced several tools you may find useful in your efforts to develop programs or provide continuing education for yourself and your staff.

Internet Resources for Care Givers:

Treatment Guidelines Updates - these guidelines are available in .pdf format from the HIV/AIDS Treatment Information Exchange or in hard copy by request.

AIDSinfo is a central resource for current information on federally funded clinical trials for AIDS patients and others infected with HIV. As the main dissemination point for federally approved HIV treatment and prevention guidelines, AIDSinfo provides information about the current treatment regimens for HIV infection and AIDS-related illnesses, including the prevention of HIV transmission from occupational exposure and mother-to-child transmission during pregnancy.

AIDS Chicago Community Website
A Chicago community resource for local information on HIV/AIDS including promoting events, career and volunteer opportunities, HIV services, online discussion, statistics and news.

AIDS Education and Training Centers
AIDS Education and Training Centers (AETCs) have been established through a grant program of the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). The AETC National Resource Center (NRC) maintains this website which provides a virtual library of online training resources for adaptation to meet local training needs. A broad range of downloadable interdisciplinary training materials are available.

AIDS Education Global Information System (AEGIS)
The largest AIDS knowledge-base on the web. Funded by the National Library of Medicine and Roxane Laboratories, it contains nearly 400,000 files, fully keyword searchable and cross-referenced.

American Foundation for AIDS Research (AmFAR)
A nonprofit organization that supports research, prevention education, and public policy development.

AIDS Treatment Data Network
The Network's home page has directories on clinical trials, available government and corporate-sponsored treatments, glossaries, and links to other HIV sites.

AIDS Virtual Library
This site specializes in the social, political and medical aspects of HIV/AIDS and related issues.

Instructions on how to harness the HIV/AIDS resources of the internet, plus links to other web sites.

Gay Menís Health Crisis
Hotline, counseling and workshop information; the basics on AIDS, testing, safer sex.

HealthWeb provides links to specific, evaluated information resources on the World-Wide Web selected by librarians and information professionals at leading academic medical centers in the Midwest. Including an AIDS/HIV site maintained by librarian extraordinaire Erica Burnham.

Features a photo gallery depicting oral manifestations of HIV disease, and a search engine which enables users to easily find specific areas of interest. Through a "warm line response system," providers have access to experts on matters concerning HIVand oral health care.

HIV Web Study
Presented by The Northwest AIDS Education and Training Center and the University of Washington. The site features 40 interactive case studies covering a broad array of topics related to the clinical care of HIV-infected persons.

Women, Children and HIV
The Women, Children and HIV Website is a collaboration between the Francois-Xavier Bagnoud (FXB) Center at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ) and the Center for HIV Information (CHI) at the University of California, San Francisco. This site contains a library of materials on HIV infection in women and children, including resources on prevention of mother-to-child HIV transmission (PMTCT), infant feeding, clinical care of women and children living with HIV infection, and the support of orphans.
