Biomedical Informatics (BI)

The Biomedical Informatics (BI) Core provides the informatics infrastructure, clinical research data resources, and informatics services required in the translation of research from bench to bedside to community and back again.

Core Description

The BI Core is working in the following project areas:

Through the application of existing informatics resources, the development of new resources, and the implementation of novel approaches, the BI Core is implementing an innovative program that promotes the efficient, effective multi-directional flow of information among basic, animal, human, and public health researchers while minimizing the effects of traditional barriers that form research silos. This transformative approach is providing a set of user-friendly informatics tools and services that are supporting CCTS operations, UIC and CCTS-affiliate administrators, and clinical and translational research activities.
