Core Description
The UIC Clinical Interface Core (CIC) is committed to providing the investigators, trainees, and research staff at University of Illinois at Chicago and its CCTS partners a research environment and broad range of services that are conducive to the conduct of high quality, timely and efficient clinical and translational research.
The UIC Clinical Interface Core (CIC) facilitates research by delivering expertise and resources as required for the successful completion of research studies. We are focused on 1) meeting the needs of the investigator, 2) providing a safe, high quality and enjoyable experience for our subjects and 3) maintaining the highest level of ongoing education for our staff. Investigators may utilize the personnel and facilities at the Clinical Research Center (CRC) or request research support to occur beyond the walls of the CRC. The purpose of the CIC is to make clinical translational research happen in a predictable and reproducible fashion. The expertise and resources that we offer help bring to fruition study protocols for investigators who might lack certain research resources or personnel needed for a particular protocol. We have or can obtain physical resources needed to perform specialized studies. The CIC emphasizes the safe and ethical conduct of clinical research, while at the same time fostering education of future clinical translational research scientists.
