News and Events
The TTRC will regularly sponsor seminars and workshops throughout the year
to highlight various campus resources and instrumentation.
RRC Facilities Update
Two new Mass Spectrometers have been installed: a Shimadzu Trap-TOF, funded by NIH/NCRR, and an Agilent QQQ (jointly funded by the College of Pharmacy and RRC). In addition, we have been awarded a new Chip-Cube by Agilent to develop methods for proteomics and small molecule analysis using this state-of-the-art HPLC on a chip.
The new laser TIRF live-cell imaging system, funded by NIH/NCRR, is now in operation on the third floor of MSB. The third floor RRC space will be used to develop a cooperative inter-college imaging center. An NIH/NCRR instrumentation grant proposal has been submitted for an advanced multi-photon microscope. The system will be custom-built with two imaging stations, one for live animals, and the other for tissue slices. It will include a second laser system to release caged compounds wth an integrated electrophysiology setup.
The QPCR system has been upgraded with a high-throughput robotic plate loader to handle
ABI TLDA plates. Several labs have successfully used the TLDA technology that employs
pre-loaded 384-well microfluidic cards for such things as micro-RNA expression in clinical
sample. SNIP analysis has increased, and a new intermediate-level SNIP array is being
considered.
The Translational Technologies and Resources Core Seminar Series

Technologies and
Resources Core
Seminar Series |
The Translational Technologies and Resources Core would like to announce their upcoming seminars: When: Where: We are also planning an exciting full Day symposium on the clinical applications of Quantum Dot Technology in April – stay tuned for more information. Do you need assistance finding resources for your translational project? Is there a technology that you would like to use to test your hypothesis but can’t afford it? Do you need to locate a clinical or basic researcher for collaboration or to gain a different perspective on your project? The TTRC can help! In addition to our services to help locate resources (technology, human, or other), the TTRC is now offering subsidies of up to $2,000 for use on select services within certain RRC facilites. |
