How can I apply for the
award?
In addition to reading the FAQs, please read the Guidelines
and Application in full.
What is this year's category
for the larger award?
This year the category for the larger award is Improvement in Quality
of Medical Student Teaching for the 1998-99 academic year
Who were last year's winners?
Last year the Dean's Office was honored to present the General
Teaching Excellence award to the Department of Anatomy and Cell Biology.
The Department of Physiology and Biophysics was the recipient of the
award for Outstanding Achievement In Medical Student Teaching in a Single
Course or Clinical Experience.
Who should apply?
Dean Sandlow strongly encourages applications from both the Basic
Science and Clinical Departments. He writes, "These awards are
a source of honor and recognition for your department and an opportunity
to receive additional financial resources to further enhance your teaching
efforts."
How many copies of the
application should be submitted? When is the deadline?
A total of eight copies of the application are to be forwarded to the
Office of Undergraduate Medical Education, 109 CMW, M/C 785, by
November 15, 2003.
Where can clinical departments
get 1998-99 evaluation data for M4s?
Clinical departments seeking 1998-99 evaluation data for their M-4 experiences
may contact Melissa Lindberg at 996-9033 or to get those experiences
into the processing queue immediately.
When and how are the winners
announced?
Dean Sandlow will honor each recipient at the Spring meeting of the
Academy for Excellence in Teaching.
