Grading System for the UIC College of Medicine

The College of Medicine grading system includes standard UIC grades and several grades unique to the college.  Students are graded on a pass/fail system that includes more than one passing designation.  The Outstanding (O) grade is awarded for high academic achievement or for clinical distinction.

First-Year Basic Science Courses/Disciplines and Second-Year Preclinical Courses/Disciplines

Third-Year Elective Courses and Core Clerkships and Fourth-Year Elective Clerkships

Fourth-Year Specialty Clerkship (Chicago Only)
