High School Student Scholarships and Grants

REMINDER: Start filling out the "Federal Application for Federal Student Aid" (FAFSA) early (i.e. January of your senior year) and request a PIN (Personal identification number). The easiest way to do this is online at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/ You will need to do this for many loans and grants.

• Monetary Award Program (MAP) grants: If you fill out your FAFSA and plan to attend a MAP participating school, then you’re automatically applying for this and the Pell grant (check the box for “interested in state & federal grants and scholarships”). http://www.isac1.org/ilaid/map.html

• Sam Walton Community Scholarship Program. The Sam Walton Community Scholarship is a program in which each Wal-Mart Store and SAM'S CLUB will award a $1,000 scholarship to a college-bound high school senior in the local community where each Store/CLUB operates. Wal-Mart Associates, children or immediate family members of Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. are not eligible to apply for this award.
