MESSAGE FROM THE DEAN...
The University of Illinois College of Medicine provides outstanding opportunities for study and research in many areas of biomedical sciences. It is the largest College of Medicine in the nation, and we are committed to the education of physicians and the training of biomedical scientists for the future. The application of scientific advances in molecular and cellular biology to essentially all fields of biomedical science and medicine will, in the next few years, revolutionize medicine. The interdisciplinary Program for Training in Molecular and Cellular Biology typifies our academic mission, which is to bridge the gap between the individual research areas and integrate them into an understanding of the whole organism. The objectives of this training program are to bring our graduate students to the frontiers of research in molecular and cell biology and prepare them for future research careers with a broad-based, interdisciplinary background.
Our graduate students are mentored and taught by an outstanding scientific faculty actively involved in exciting and novel research. Their dedication to this Program provides an opportunity for young scientists to be trained in an environment that fosters their career development.
I hope that you are an individual motivated toward a scientific career. If so, I would invite you to consider the Graduate Program in Molecular and Cellular Biology for your graduate scientific education.
Gerald S. Moss, M.D.
