to the Department of Family Medicine at the University
of Illinois at Chicago! Family
Medicine at UIC is an academic program dedicated to
clinical care, education, and research, which focuses
on meeting the medical needs of a diverse, urban population.
Members of our faculty reflect the variety of interests
and qualities inherent in Family Medicine. They are
dedicated to demonstrating and promoting the specialty
to the University community of students, residents,
and faculty as well as to the people we serve. The
physicians, nurse practitioners and academic faculty
of the Department of Family Medicine are all committed
to communicating values of culturally sensitive medical
care, health maintenance and preventive services.
This care is intended to be comprehensive and continuous
and available to each member of the family regardless
of gender, age or type of problem. Through contact
with our patients, medical students in all levels
of training, and our dedicated group of residents,
the Department is cultivating the culture of Family
Medicine on the UIC Campus as well as within Chicago
and Illinois. We are committed to collaborative efforts
throughout the University and broader community. We
