Nurse practitioners (NP) are registered nurses with advanced academic and clinical experience which enables them to diagnose and manage most common and many chronic illnesses, both independently and as part of a health care team. Working in collaboration with UIC family physicians, our nurse practitioners provide high-quality, cost-effective and individualized care for the lifespan of patients' special needs. NPs focus largely on health maintenance, disease prevention, counseling and patient education.
