PGY2 Curriculum

The Residency curriculum is comprised of three main elements: Rotations, Family Medicine clinics and the Family Medicine education series. Each residency year presents a variation on this scheme.

In the PGY2 year the focus shifts from primarily inpatient to mostly outpatient care. Residents increase their time in the Family Medicine Centers to three half days per week and continue their structured Family Medicine half day weekly educational experience. In addition, the Community Medicine rotation allows time for development of individual focused projects. Throughout the second year residents continue to build their skills through focused rotations including psychiatry, community medicine, obstetrics, orthopedics, pediatrics and gynecology.

This call includes telephone medicine and back up responsibilities for admissions and labor and delivery triage visits. Residents on Outpatient/Back up call come to the hospital approximately once monthly, on average, during overnight hours.
