| Born in America, she nevertheless studied medicine in Paris to become the first woman to be named "interne des hopitaux". She carried on the bulk of his work in private practice and in research when her husband Joseph Jules Dejerine died in 1917. She is known as a clinician and a neuropathologist. In 1885 she described the symptomatology of lower brachial plexus lesions. |  |
