DR. NORMAN DOTT
(1892-1973)

Dott was born and educated in Edinburgh/Scotland, studied with Cornelius Ariens Käppers (1877-1946) the great comparative anatomist.  Eventually he wrote a biography on Käppers.  He also contributed much to the knowledge of cerebrospinal circulation and on the management of facial pain.  He was a great neurosurgeon, the first to demonstrate an aneurysm in the circle of Willis and treat it successfully.  He is considered as one of the great neurosurgeons of the time.
