DR. ADOLF WALLENBERG
(1862-1949)

This physician was born and educated in Germany. He is described as a clinician, educator and author and he was also a fine researcher. He held many important posts in Germany, with Arien Käppers, they made studies of the olfactory system. A very special interest was the blood supply of the medulla oblongata. In 1895 he described in the finest detail the classical picture of produced by an occlusion of the posterior inferior cerebellar artery with infarctions of the lateral portion of the medulla oblongata.
