The Department of Neurosurgery has nationally and internationally recognized experts in every subspecialty in neurosurgery. The combined expertise of neurosurgeons at UIC allows us to treat an extraordinary variety of conditions. In many cases, UIC surgeons can successfully treat patients turned away from other major medical centers. The Department of Neurosurgery is part of the Neuropsychiatric Institute, a world leader in its field since the 1940’s.
