Admissions Process
Prospective students should fill out a preapplication questionnaire so we can better track your progress and answer your questions. Application to
the program is best accomplished by visiting the Office of Admissions and Records homepage. Applications may be submitted directly to the Department of Pharmacology or through the integrated Graduate Education in the Medical Sciences (GEMS) program. All applications are reviewed in the same manner, but applying through GEMS will allow prospective students to select up to three departments to review the application. The first program selected will be considered the “home department.” To apply through GEMS, review the instructions on the GEMS application process page:
http://gems.comd.uic.edu/app_proc.cfm.
The GEMS Assistant Director will maintain your application file and transfer original transcripts, etc., to the Office of Admissions. If you send documents to the Office of Admissions, we cannot guarantee their timely receipt for our review process.
Submission of applications in December or January is advised. The recommended application deadline is January 15. Qualified applicants are accepted until the class is full. Due to the limited number of spaces available each year, the class is usually filled before the published Graduate College deadline (May 15th). The application deadline for international students is February 15. There is no spring admission or admission to a Master’s program.
