Stephen C.-T. Lam, PhD

Associate Professor of Pharmacology

Research in my laboratory focuses on the role of integrin adhesion receptors on cardiovascular diseases. Specifically, we are studying the structure-function relationship of the platelet integrin and the signaling mechanisms associated with this transmembrane adhesion receptor that lead to hemostasis and thrombosis. We are also investigating the interaction of leukocyte integrins with extracellular matrix proteins and the functional significance of this process in the development of atherosclerosis.
