PCOL 430: Principles of Toxicology

PCOL 430: Principles of Toxicology This course examines the toxic effects of drugs and chemicals on organ systems as well as their effects at the cellular and molecular level. The course provides a wide contemporary view on the basics of toxicology by leading University professors and industrial scientists. Lectures emphasize basic principles, effects on specific organ systems, major classes of toxic chemicals, and specialized topics such as forensic and industrial toxicology. The course has been recently updated to include the role of toxicology in drug development and incorporate two rapidly growing fields of toxicology, toxicogenomics and proteomics.
