Research in this laboratory focuses on the mechanisms of host defense and inflammation. We are interested in how chemoattractants activate neutrophils, and how G proteins and other signaling molecules contribute to the activation process. Molecular and cellular technologies are used in our studies to establish model systems for signaling studies, and to develop high-throughput methods for the identification of novel pharmacological agents that may help to control inflammation and enhance host defense.
