Chemistry
The
Automated/General Chemistry Laboratory at the University of Illinois
is a highly sophisticated laboratory offering a complete menu
of Routine and Stat tests chemistry and immunochemistry tests
on blood, urine and other body fluids utilizing state-of-the-art
equipment. The general chemistry menu includes basic metabolic
panels, tests of liver function, lipid profiles, electrolytes,
and a wide variety of metabolites, enzymes and proteins. The immunoassay
menu includes tests for infectious diseases, anemia, bone metabolism,
fertility, thyroid function, markers of malignancy, and markers
of cardiac disease. The Automated/General Chemistry lab performs
in excess of 1 million tests/year.
The
lab is located on the University of Illinois Medical Center campus
at 840 S. Wood Street, second floor. The laboratory is staffed
7 days/week, 365 days/year. Pathology fellow, resident, pathologist
and/or Director on call 24 hours.
