Jacob Pe'er,
MD
Dr. Jacob Pe'er has spent three short sabbatical leaves in our laboratory, and played a key role in the description of the microcirculation architecture of uveal melanomas and the relationship of these changes to metastasis. He also has a keen interest in the role of VEGF upregulation in ocular neovascularization. On one of his visit with us, he was a the recipient of a Research to Prevent Blindness Foreign Scientist Fellowship. Dr. Pe'er is a noted ophthalmic oncologist and ophthalmic pathologist, and is Chair of the Department of Ophthalmology at the Hadassah University Hospital in Jerusalem, Israel. Isao Otaka, MD
Dr. Isao Otaka, from the Department of Ophthalmology, Keio University, Tokyo, Japan, visited us in September, 1998. Dr. Otaka has a research interest in molecular ophthalmology and medical education. He explored the possibility of joining our global outeach program. Beata Rymgayllo-Jankowska,

Dr. Beata Rymgayllo-Jankowsa was a fellow with us from July, 1998 through June, 1999. She has returned to the Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Lublin in Poland where she will teach ophthalmic pathology and assist Professor Z. Zagorski in directing the ophthalmic pathology laboratory. Dr. Rymgayllo-Jankowsa is also director of the Eye Bank in Poland and as appointed as a coordinator of Eye Bank Activities for Eastern Europe.
