About Us

Micro/Nano Systems (MNS) Committee is one of the twelve technical committees under the ASME Design Engineering Division (DED). This committee was officially established in July 2005 to serve as an intellectual infrastructure under the DED for the design engineering community engaged in research and development of micro/nano-scale systems in their broad forms.

The purpose of the Micro/Nano SystemsCommittee is to promote research and dissemination of knowledge in theoretical and applied research in micro- and nano-scale systems including, but not limited to, micromechanisms, micro- and nano-robotics, dynamics and vibrations of micro/nano-scale systems (MEMS/NEMS), microfluidics, BioMEMS/NEMS, and bio-systems design, sensors and actuators.

The purpose of this website is to provide information and links of interest to the members of the MNS community and ASME.

  • The MNS committee is organizing a symposium titled Design, Dynamics and Controls of Micro/Nano Systems jointly with the ASME MEMS Division at the 2006 ASME IMECE to be held in Chicago, IL. Please see the Call for Papers (PDF, 45 KB, see the highlighted Topic). The deadline for Abstract submission is March 6, 2006.
