The Occupational Circumstances Assessment Interview and Rating Scale (OCAIRS) Version 4.0, 2005

This new version has three Interview Formats( Mental Health, Forensic Mental Health, and Physical Disabilities)
The OCAIRS provides a structure
for gathering, analyzing, and reporting data on the extent and nature
of an individual's occupational participation. It can be used with
a wide range of clients, and would be appropriate for any adolescent
or adult client who has the cognitive and emotional ability to participate
in an interview. The OCAIRS provides a structured and theoretically
based means of developing interview skills in evaluation and treatment.

The OCAIRS manual includes "OCAIRS Rating Criteria", "OCAIRS Rating Scales and Notes Summary Form", and "OCAIRS Data Summary Form1 & 2". In each of three interview formats (Mental Health, Forensic Mental Health, and Physical Disabilities), there are four interview formats including "Questions", "Questions, Rating Scales and Notes Form", "Question and Rating Scales", and "Key Words Form". Three case studies are used to demonstrate analysis and planning using the OCAIRS. All forms are reproducible.
This assessment is discussed and illustrated with a case in chapter 17 of The Model Of Human Occupation: Theory and Application (Kielhofner, 2008).
