Diabetes Management Classes

Our American Diabetes Association certified Diabetes Self-Management and Training program educates patients and their families in the successful self-management of diabetes. DSMT is the process of providing diabetics with the knowledge and skills needed to perform self-care on a day-to-day basis. Self-management education teaches patients with diabetes to assess the relationships that exist between nutrition, medications, activity levels, physical and emotional status. Understanding this delicate balance will allow those individuals with diabetes to diligently monitor and to respond appropriately to daily fluctuations of blood glucose, thus maintaining some control over the disease process.

Our specialized team of endocrinologists and certified diabetes educators also offer expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of diabetes, general endocrinology, insulin pump therapy, and continuous glucose monitoring systems.

Using magnification endoscopy, doctors can see microscopic lesions of the colon not visible during a standard colonoscopy. The lesions may be an important biomarker for the development of colon cancer several years before polyps appear.
