The University of Illinois at Chicago is committed to providing prompt and effective resolution of incidents of discrimination and harassment by University employees, and encourages informal resolution of discrimination complaints as close to the source as possible. In line with applicable University policies, students with disabilities have full access to the UIC's discrimination compliance and grievance procedures for students, including access to the Office of Access and Equity, the Office of the Ombudsperson, and the Office of Academic Affairs.
In addition to filing a discrimination report with the above-referenced offices, issues regarding the denial of requests for accommodations, academic adjustments or auxiliary aids and services may be addressed to those offices. Concerns may also be discussed with the Director of the Disability Resource Center or with the Vice Provost for Academic and Enrollment Services, to which the Disability Resource Center reports administratively, when such requests were originally filed through the Disability Resource Center. Formal complaints can be submitted to the Office of Access and Equity.
