UIC has been named one of the nation's best 25 campuses for LGBT students
In a new data-based ranking from Campus Pride and Huffington Post, UIC
earned a 5-star ranking in the Campus Pride Index, which rates colleges and
universities based on LGBT-friendly policies, programs, and practices.

The Illinois Humanities Council awarded a Project Grant to the African-American Cultural Center (AACC) at UIC in support of its public humanities programming for its current exhibition: "The Reason Why the Colored American is NOT included in the World's Columbian Exposition." UIC Stands for Immigration Reform: UIC joins with other institutions of higher education across the United States to raise awareness and take action for immigration reform. A statement of solidarity appears on the Chancellor’s website. UIC is involved in ongoing efforts across campus to support all students of varying degrees of documentation.
We stand together with campus and student leaders at colleges and universities across America in the call for immigration reform to attract, retain, and educate the many deserving students who represent the world’s best and brightest and contribute to our cultural and intellectual diversity. These students have struggled to make it to our doors and trust us to help them make a better future for themselves and their families here in their chosen country. A Mosaic for UIC Transformation is a campus-wide, collaborative publication that is the culmination of over three years of work. The plan represents the final phase of the Diversity Strategic Thinking and Planning (DSTP) process and is a mosaic of interconnected goals and actions with the overall purpose of integrating diversity throughout all levels and activities of the campus. Through the Lens of Diversity Portrait Project features several UIC students, faculty and staff members and their stories about diversity as a campus portrait project. We invite you to listen to their stories and experiences and share with others on campus.
The Office for Access and Equity (OAE), as part of the Office of the Chancellor, strives to increase access to employment, programs, and services in an environment free of unlawful discrimination and harassment. Dispute Resolution Services (DRS) provides confidential consultation, facilitation and mediation services to faculty, academic and support staff.
