January 26, 2011 Workshop: Conflict Resolution for Department Heads
12:00 noon to 1:30 pm, 2750 UH
The workshop was be hosted by Caryn Bills, Director of the Office of Access and Equity (OAE). Director Bills went into OAE/DRS services providing information about resources available from OAE that can assist with conflict ranging from unlawful discrimination/harassment to mediation, private consultation and training. During this workshop, Director Bills used the Thomas-Kilmann Conflict Mode Instrument (TKI) to provide you the feedback about your tendencies in dealing with interpersonal conflict. It describes five different conflict-handling modes and helps you identify which of these modes you use most often. By helping you become more aware of the choices you and others are making in conflict situations, the TKI provides a way for you to consciously steer conflict situations in constructive directions.
