Purpose:
To discuss UIC’s current general education program in an open forum with undergraduates. The forum was hosted by the Undergraduate Student Government.
Participants:
Undergraduate Student Government, UIC students, and members of the administration including Vice Provost for Undergraduate Affairs, Lon Kaufman.
Results
The forum focused on a discussion of cultural diversity requirements and general education and the definition of cultural diversity as it relates to UIC and the city of Chicago. The forum allowed the students, faculty, and administrators to interact in a meaningful way to gather student input on general education and cultural diversity.
