Cynthia Herrera Lindstrom as Chief Information Officer (CIO) for UIC and Executive Director of the Academic Computing and Communications Center (ACCC)
As CIO, Ms. Lindstrom is part of the Provost's leadership team and is responsible for the development of high-quality information technology services that support all aspects of UIC's mission. She will provide leadership in guiding the future direction of campus IT and setting IT policy for the campus, and she will oversee the ACCC's budget and services. Essential to the success of her portfolio will be building a robust IT infrastructure, coordinating IT services across the campus, and ensuring the success of the new IT governance structure implemented last fall. She will also work closely with the University of Illinois Executive CIO in aligning UIC's IT objectives with those of the university as a whole.
Previously, Ms. Lindstrom was director of ACCC, which provides computing services to the campus including network infrastructure, phones, email systems, software licensing, web services, helpdesk, and public computing labs. She has over 20 years of experience at UIC and is a recognized leader, skilled in translating complex business requirements into cost-effective technology solutions. A recent graduate of the University's IT leadership program, Ms. Lindstrom has demonstrated expertise in planning, selecting, implementing and supporting information systems, and she is currently working on an IT strategic plan for UIC.
