Talented High School Student Program

The Talented High School Student Program (THSSP) is designed for students who excel academically in high school and have exhausted their school's course offerings in a particular subject. It is an opportunity for qualified high school students to continue their studies in a discipline while also receiving college credit. Students are responsible for their own tuition, fees and other charges related to taking courses at UIC.

The initial inquiry for participation in THSSP should come from the student’s high school, where school personnel must indicate that the interested student has run out of viable course options at the high school and is a strong candidate for college level work in a specified discipline.

Interested students must meet the following criteria in order to be eligible to participate in the program:

1. An ACT composite score of at least 25 (or the equivalent SAT score)
2. Rank in the upper 10% of student's school class
3. Be at least 16 years of age
