Welcome to the UIC Office of Transfer Student Assistance

It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to UIC and invite you to visit the Office of Transfer Student Assistance. This office is a place for new transfer students to come for information and assistance in making a successful transition to UIC. The campus offers a myriad of academic support programs, student resources such as the library computer labs, clubs, organizations, the Office of Veterans Affairs (click “For Veteran Students” for forms), career services, campus recreational activities and more. Your academic department will help you navigate your major, and my office will help you navigate the campus by providing you with information about your campus opportunities and direct you to campus experts.

My goal is for you to have an easy transition to UIC and great success while you are here. My name is Maxine Goldberg, and I will be the person who will be communicating with you, either by e-mail (transfer@uic.edu), by phone (312-413-9693), or in person when you visit the office.

I have developed a listserv of new transfer students as a way of keeping us connected as well as a way for me to disseminate information to you. I will be sending “greetings” to you to keep in touch and will send information such as important due dates, happenings on campus and informational “tips.” If you do not want to receive these communiques, write to me at transfer@uic.edu and I will delete your name from the list.

The office is located in 2279 Student Services Building (SSB), near the second floor computer lab. I look forward to meeting and working with you.

To extend your orientation experience, click on “Upcoming Events” for a listing of upcoming informational sessions and a transfer student meet and greet event.
