UIC Office of Policy Development
As part of the Office of the Vice Provost for Planning and Programs, OPD’s mission is to link UIC’s institutional values and strategic objectives with the everyday acts of our individual members by providing ready access to policies and procedures that
- Define expectations in conduct, responsibilities and standards of behavior
- Reduce institutional risk and potential harm
- Enhance operational efficiency across campus departments
- Support compliance with any mandates, laws and regulations applicable to our campus
In fulfilling this mission, OPD has organized, by subject or user group, existing “legacy” campus policies and procedures listed and maintained by various campus offices on their websites. These campus offices are responsible for keeping their listing current and responding to questions of implementation. Frequently used University of Illinois policies and Statutes are also included.
For those interested in policies and procedures for a particular college or academic program you are referred to Academic Departments, Colleges and Programs.
Upon adoption of a policy process approved by campus leadership, OPD will guide the process of policy development to ensure appropriate levels of drafting expertise, review and approval. It will edit, issue, maintain and archive all “official” or newly approved campus policies.
This site is currently under contstruction to add links to campus-wide policies. If you have questions, please contact Patricia Gill, Associate Vice Provost for Planning and Programs, pagill@uic.edu, 312-413-3865.
