Important Notes:
Eligibility:
Candidates must be a U.S. citizen, or a permanent resident, and
must be enrolled in a 2 or 4-year college, university, or distance-learning
institution. Applicants must be pursuing an educational program
directly related to pollution control or environmental protection
for the duration of the fellowship. Undergraduate students must
have a 3.0/4.0 GPA, and must have completed at least four courses
related to the field of environmental studies. Graduate students
must be currently enrolled in a graduate or Ph.D. program or must
provide proof of acceptance and enrollment in a graduate or Ph.D.
program by the time the fellowship begins. Completion of at least
one semester of graduate or Ph.D. work, or at least four undergraduate
courses related to the field of environmental studies is required
for graduate students.
Description:
The Environmental Protection Agency’s National Network for
Environmental Management Studies Fellowship Program is intended
to provide students with practical research opportunities and
experiences in an EPA office or laboratory, increase public awareness
of and involvement in environmental issues, and to encourage qualified
individuals to pursue careers associated with the environment.
The program is an effort to assist in defraying the costs associated
with the pursuit of academic programs related to the field of
environmental protection, such as pollution control, science,
engineering, technology, and social science.
