NASA Harriet Jenkins Predoctoral Fellowship Program

Important Notes: Once the fellowship is awarded, recipients cannot participate in any other federally funded fellowship or scholarship program.

Eligibility: This award is only for women, ethnic minorities and persons with disabilities who are full-time graduating seniors, first or second year master’s students, and first through third year Ph.D. students pursuing careers in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics. Applicants must be U.S. citizens and nationals, and have at least a 3.0/4.0 GPA.

Description: The Harriett G. Jenkins Predoctoral Fellowship Program (JPFP) employs the best practices for advancing increased numbers of women, minorities, and persons with disabilities participating in the math, science, engineering, and technology (MSET) disciplines. Annually, up to 20 US citizens are selected to receive up to 3 years of fellowship support leading to doctoral degrees in NASA-related disciplines. JPFP provides $16,000 for master’s students, $22,000 for Ph.D. students and $8,500 in tuition assistance. Funding is available for up to three years based on performance.
