Bette L. Bottoms, Vice Provost for Undergraduate Affairs and Dean of the Honors College

The Vice Provost for Undergraduate Affairs (VPUA) reports directly to the Provost and is the chief academic and administrative officer responsible for overseeing and coordinating the undergraduate experience, which includes, among other components, the Honors College, the Study Abroad Office, Guaranteed Professional Program Admission, the Advising Resource Center, the Office of Special Scholarships, the Office of Classroom Learning Environments, ARMY ROTC, the six Centers for Diversity—the African American Cultural Center, the Asian American Resource and Cultural Center, the Disability Resource Center, the Gender and Sexuality Center, the Latino Cultural Center, and the Women’s Leadership and Resource Center. VPUA also coordinates UIC Summer College, the Undergraduate Advising Resource Center, the Undergraduate Research Experience, the Chancellor’s Undergraduate Research Award, and others. In cooperation with Campus Housing and the Honors College, VPUA also sponsors the UIC Freshman Read.

The Vice Provost for Undergraduate Affairs also holds the title of Dean of the Honors College.
