Welcome to the Office of the Vice Provost for Planning and Programs
The Vice Provost for Planning and Programs (VPPP), Saul Weiner, MD, coordinates strategic planning at the campus level, working with units for specific plans and with the Chancellor's Office for full campus strategic planning. The VPPP partners with academic units and faculty to develop pipeline initiatives and acquire associated federal and foundation funding. The Office of the VPPP works with the faculty senate, colleges and departments on the creation, approval, review, assessment, suspension and closure of academic programs. The Vice Provost acts as the institutional liaison to external review and accrediting bodies like the Illinois Board of Higher Education and the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools (NCA).
Offices reporting to the Vice Provost for Planning and Programs include: International Affairs, Programs and Academic Assessment, School of Continuing Studies, U.S./Asia Executive Development Program and the Urban Health Program.
