Taft, Burnham, and Addams Halls
Each building in the Taft-Burnham-Addams cluster was named for an individual who seized Chicago as a place of opportunity. Loredo Taft was a sculptor, educator, and cultural leader. Architect Daniel H. Burnham, known to have said, “Make no little plans,” coordinated the 1893 World’s Columbian Exposition in Chicago. Nobel Peace Prize winner Jane Addams founded Hull-House, the first settlement house in Chicago, in 1889.
