Caryn Bills has more than 25 years of experience at UIC and given her extensive and distinguished career, was appointed to Associate Chancellor, effective January 24, 2013. Caryn continues to serve as Director of OAE on a reduced schedule. She began in OAE in 2000 and was appointed Director in 2008. During her time at OAE, she created OAE's Dispute Resolution Services (DRS), which she continues to oversee, and is a certified mediator. From 1986 through 2000, she served in the Office for Student Affairs as UIC's first Ombudsperson (1989 through 2000) and as Director of Campus Relations (1994 through 2000).

Caryn holds a Masters Degree in Education from the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Keana M. Galloway was promoted to Assistant Director in 2011 and to Associate Director in 2013.  As Associate Director, she is responsible for overseeing the University's Affirmative Action Plans, Search Waiver review and the Academic Hiring process, including developing strategies related to recruitment and retention of women, persons of color, persons with disabilities, veterans, and members of other under-represented groups.  Keana supervises OAE's Equal Opportunity Officer and other staff as well as oversees OAE's budget.

Keana joined the Office for Access and Equity in 2006 as the Project Management Specialist and has served as the Liaison to the Chancellor's Status Committees. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and Master's Degree in Education from the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Samantha began working for OAE in July 2012 as a Project Manager. She supports various projects as a research assistant, and is involved with the planning and development of departmental programs. She earned her Bachelor's degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign in 2010 and will be seeking her Master's degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Kathy R. Irving joined the Office for Access and Equity in July 2012. As the new Assistant Equal Opportunity Officer, she is responsible for providing oversight and assistance with the Academic Hiring Search process. She also serves as a resource to units and search committees during all phases of the recruitment and hiring process. Additionally, Kathy coordinates and monitors OAE's Dispute Resolution Services.

Kathy received her Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration/Human Resources from DePaul University. She has more than 18 years of human resources experience from a major Chicago University.

Tanya L. Jachimiak joined the Office for Access and Equity in 2009 and was promoted to Executive Associate Director in 2013. As Executive Associate Director, Tanya monitors UIC's compliance with equal employment opportunity and affirmative action policies and laws, Title IX requirements, and Section 504 responsibilities. Tanya is also charged with general office oversight, including supervising OAE's Associate Director, Assistant Director, and other office staff.

Tanya received her Juris Doctor in 1998 from DePaul University College of Law and her Bachelor's Degree in Philosophy and Women Studies in 1995 from the University of Illinois at Chicago. She practiced employment law, including class action litigation and employer advising, for over eleven years at prestigious national law firms.

Donald Kamm joined the Office for Access and Equity as Assistant Director in 2011. As Assistant Director, Donn is responsible for handling issues and complaints related to equal opportunity, harassment, and discrimination. Donn also develops and provides employee training on a broad range of topics, including preventing harassment and workplace violence.

Donn received his Juris Doctorate from the University Of Toledo, College Of Law in 1996 and his Bachelor's Degree in Communications from Indiana University in 1987. Donn practiced human resources and employment law for several Fortune 500 companies working specifically in human resources and employment law before joining OAE.

Chorlatte began at OAE in July 2010 and currently serves as Secretarial Assistant to OAE's Executive Associate Director and Associate Director. Chorlatte graduated from UIC with a Bachelors Degree in Criminal Law and Justice in May 2013. She intends to pursue an advanced degree in nursing with a focus in forensics.
