Diplomas

All graduates of the University will receive a diploma for each degree earned. Only one diploma per degree, per student will be provided. If you have a question that is not answered on this page, we have provided a Diploma FAQ for your convenience.

Diplomas are mailed to a student's Diploma address. Failure to create a Diploma Address in Student Self Service could delay the receipt of your diploma. Please check and update your Diploma Address using Student Self-Service before leaving the University. Diplomas are sent by first-class mail approximately 2 – 4 months after the date of award. All University of Illinois diplomas are 8.5 x 11 inches.

You may check the status of your order if you have graduated and are expecting or have ordered a diploma.

(Please note: for degrees earned prior to Fall 2004, your Social Security Number is required; for Fall 2004 and after, your University Identification number is required.)

Charges

There is no charge for a diploma when it is first issued. However, the charge for replacement of lost or damaged diplomas or for duplicate diplomas is $25.
