Congratulations on being admitted to UIC!

We’re excited to have you join the UIC community. The information below will help you with your first steps:

Checklist

Activate your portal account
Activate your portal account.  You should have received an email with an invitation code and instructions.
 
Submit your intent to Enroll Decision
In order to secure your place at UIC, you must submit your Intent to Enroll (ITE) decision as soon as possible or by May 1st (Fall) or by December 1st (Spring). You may mail or fax your response, but the preferred option is to log in using your username and password to accept.uic.edu and submit your ITE response. Intent to Enroll online submission will be available November 15, 2012

Follow these steps:
  1. Activate your portal account by clicking on ”Enter your invitation code.”  Enter your invitation code and last name.  Follow the instructions for setting up a password.
    Note: Activating your portal account does not mean you have submitted your Intent to Enroll.
  2. Log into accept.uic.edu using your username and password by clicking on Login under "Already have an account".
  3. Click on the "Application Status" tab.
  4. Click on the "Submit your Intent to Enroll" in the “Intent to Enroll” portlet.
  5. Select "Yes" or "No" and click on submit.
  6. Verify your response and click confirm.
  7. A web page with a confirmation number will be displayed.
  8. Print the confirmation page for your records.
  9. Verify that your Intent to Enroll has been processed by the Office of Admissions by logging into accept.uic.edu after three business days. In the "Processed Applications" portlet select the term for your submitted application.  The Application Status will state “Applicant Accepts Offer.”If your Intent to Enroll has not been processed after 3 business days then contact the Office of Admissions at (312) 996-4350 and Press "1".
Activate your UIC NetID / password
First, activate your UIC NetID and password. You will need your University Identification Number (UIN) and either your Social Security Number (information on SSN) or a Temporary Control Number (information on TCN). Then, go to: www.activatenetid.accc.uic.edu

(If you do not remember your University Identification Number (UIN), you can retrieve your UIN)
Activate your EnterpriseID / password
Next, activate your EnterpriseID and password (more information here). You can do this by going to: https://eastemp.admin.uillinois.edu/eas/servlet/EasBluestemReset

NetID Problems?
If you have already activated your NetID but do not remember what it is, you can search for it in the UIC Online Phonebook. If you do not remember the password for your NetID, or you want to setup password recovery mechanisms or change the password, you can use the password changing utility.

If you are unable to resolve a NetID issue or submit your Intent to Enroll and the  deadline is approaching, you need to either fax or mail your Intent to Enroll form to the UIC Office of Admissions to ensure you meet the deadline.
Sign up for Placement Tests
Most first year students and some transfer students are required to take placement tests. For detailed information, go to: http://pep.testing.uic.edu

Placement Test information will be available in the portal in January 2013.
Apply for Financial Aid
To be considered for Financial Aid, you must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) which can be found at www.fafsa.ed.gov . Please note that the FAFSA priority deadline  is March 1st.
Apply for Campus Housing
If you want to live on campus, the online campus housing application  is found at www.housing.uic.edu/apply Campus housing is available on a first-come, first served basis.
Register for and Attend New Student Orientation
After submitting your Intent to Enroll decision, you will receive more information about Orientation. During Orientation, you will meet with an academic advisor and register for your classes. For questions about New Student Orientation, call 312-996-3271.
Send Final Academic Transcripts
Please be sure to have your final official transcripts sent. You can find the form online by going to: www.oar.uic.edu/forms. Send to: Office of Admissions (MC 018), University of Illinois at Chicago, Box 5220, Chicago, Illinois 60680-5220.
Complete and Return the Medical Immunization Form (for students living on Campus)
The form is available online at www.oar.uic.edu/forms. Send to: Office of Medical Immunization Records, University of Illinois at Chicago, Box 5220, Chicago, Illinois 60680-5220. For additional information, please call (312) 413-0464.
