We offer a number of visit options for you and your family. Read about our programs and register when you're ready to schedule your visit.

Visit Programs


Preview Days - register

Preview Days are UIC’s signature visit program designed for prospective students. The half-day programing includes an admissions presentation and information fair with representatives from the colleges and various academic units on campus. You will hear from a student panel and receive a campus tour, and be able to attend college specific sessions, as well as presentations about financial aid, UIC’s Honors College and the Guaranteed Professional Programs Admissions throughout the morning.

UIC 101 – admissions presentation and tour of campus - register

Offered most weekdays and on select Saturdays, each visit program is approximately 2 hours in length.

Each program begins with a presentation by the Admissions Office and then guests have the opportunity to interact with current University students during a student panel, take a student-led walking tour of campus, and visit a University Residence Hall.

UIC 201 -- Transfer Information Sessions - register

Offered every Friday at 11am, these sessions are targeted towards prospective transfer students.

Each program is approximately 2 hours in length and begins with an admissions presentation providing an overview of campus, admissions information, and insight into the transfer process, followed by a student-led tour of campus and a University Residence Hall.

Housing Events - register

While Campus Housing always includes a residence hall in the tour programs for UIC 101, 201 and Preview Days, they offer a fall and spring open house program that allows student to tour any of the residence halls, and a limited number of overnight experiences.  Check the calendar to see if one is available.

Transfer Appointments

Appointments are arranged primarily for transfer and international students who have questions regarding the application process for their specific programs at the university. Please call (312) 996-4350 to schedule an appointment, or talk to an admissions counselor on the phone.  Appointment can be scheduled in person, or for out of state and international students, via Skype.

Sometimes our available sessions do not meet the needs of your schedule.  If this is the case, we have some resources available for you to tour the campus on your own!

Arranging Departmental Visits

Some departments and colleges at UIC offer their own sessions that can be attended as a standalone appointment, or often times works well in concert with a UIC 101/201 session.   The following is a list of contacts for the undergraduate colleges that offer program specific visits.

Admitted Student Tours - register

On Fridays in April, we give admitted students tours of campus.  Admitted students are welcome to attend UIC 101, but these sessions cover a lot of application information that may be redundant for an admitted student.  During admitted student tours, students can interact with a student panel, have a brief overview of the university and next steps with an admissions counselor, and tour the campus with student tour guides.

Registration for these tours will be available in February.
