Admission Requirements - GPPA & Honors College

GPPA applicants must meet the following admission requirements*:

  • Achieve a minimum composite ACT score of 28 or minimum combined (math + critical reading) SAT score of 1240.
    • The writing portion of the both the ACT and SAT are not reviewed during the admission process.
    • The SAT II is not reviewed during the admission process.
  • Rank in the top 15% of the high school class
    • If the high school does not rank, please disregard this requirement.
  • Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident for the programs of Medicine, Dentistry, and Public Health.
  • Be a resident of Illinois for Medicine and Dentistry.
    • To determine if you qualify for Illinois residency, please refer to the University of Illinois residency requirements.

*Please note that not all students meeting the minimum requirements for GPPA are admitted. Admission is competitive and space in many programs is limited each year.

Admission Requirements – Honors College

Any incoming freshman may apply and be considered for admission.  Entering freshmen with high ACT/SAT scores and exceptional high school records are encouraged to apply.

Admission is based upon standardized test scores, high school class rank, grades earned in high school, extracurricular interests and activities, strength of the application essays, interview, and willingness to participate in the Honors College.
