Chicago, IL 60680-6020

* By submitting this application you are not applying for eligibility to the Honors College. If your GPPA application requires an Honors College application, please be sure that it is submitted with the UIC Supplement.

** GPPA Statement: By applying to the GPPA programs, you are applying for a guaranteed seat in one of UIC's graduate and professional programs earlier than students who apply in a traditional manner. The GPPA program seeks to understand why you have chosen your intended profession and a guaranteed path into it. What makes you an ideal candidate for guaranteed admission rather than following a traditional path to your intended profession? How would a guaranteed seat contribute to your goals as an undergraduate? Please be advised that you are required to submit your GPPA essay at time of application for full consideration.

*** Letters should address the following criteria for a candidate: “Please provide, using specific examples where possible, evidence of this student’s particular intellectual strengths and weaknesses. What distinguishes this student?”  The selection committees are particularly interested that recommenders address the student’s experience in the following areas as observed: academic ability, motivation, intellectual curiosity, maturity, responsibility, written expression of ideas, and research aptitude.  If the Teacher Evaluation Forms provided through the Common Application address these criteria, these two evaluations are acceptable for the GPPA and Honors College application.  If the candidate feels these letters will not address the above criteria, up to two additional letters may be submitted by the deadline.

Counselor School Evaluation forms will not be accepted as letters of recommendation
