Summer Session Only
Special Instructions for University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) or University of Illinois at Springfield (UIS) Students
Please read these instructions carefully to determine if this is the correct application for you.
- The Summer Session Only (SSO) application is for visiting summer students who need undergraduate courses and do not intend to continue in a degree program at UIC. If you wish to apply to UIC as a degree seeking undergraduate student, please review the Transfer Applicant Instructions.
- If you currently receive financial aid at UIUC/UIS and intend to use it for UIC's Summer Session, you must apply through a process called Intercampus Registration. Do not use the Summer Session Only application. Please check the deadline for Intercampus Registration, which may be different from the Summer Session Only application deadlines. Here's what you must do:
- Contact the financial aid advisor at your school to determine if you have financial aid available for the summer.
- Print the Intercampus Registration application form (pdf).
- Complete the form, obtain your dean’s signature, and submit the completed form to your Registrar’s Office by the deadline. You will receive registration instructions upon acceptance.
- You can view our overview of summer courses, which has separate lists of courses offered in the 4-week and 8-week sessions, or check the Summer Schedule of Classes for details about meeting days and times.
- If you do not intend to use financial aid at UIC this summer, you can apply as a Summer Session Only student. This application will allow you to take undergraduate courses at UIC over the summer. Simply follow the Instructions for All Summer Session Only Applicants.
