Charles Branham, senior historian, DuSable Museum of African American History, Chicago, also explored the historical antecedents of Chicago's Black Renaissance, covering in a mere 15 minutes 150 years of African-American history in the city —from its founding by Jean Baptiste Point Du Sable in 1799 to the establishment of African-American political organizations, women's clubs, and businesses in the 1890s, to the great migration.
