Occupational Outlook Handbook (OOH)
Comprehensive user-friendly information on hundreds of careers - data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
Detailed information about a wide variety of occupations and lists of careers organized according to categories such as skills and interests.
If you have completed the Strong Interest Inventory, in the "Advanced Search" drop down list select "Interests" then select your top Strong Interest area (Theme Code). You may also select a second Interest Area to refine further
"Job Zones" 4 and 5 reflect occupations requiring a Bachelor's degree (4) or more advanced degree (5)
Day in the Life - what's it really like to do this career?
Thanks the power of search engines and YouTube, you can enter the search term "day in the life of (insert your career of interest)" and you will see a long list of blog posts, articles, and videos that may be helpful. As with any search, be a critical thinker when it comes to the sites you are using. Most have credible information, but not all. Websites of professional associations related to your targeted career are among the best.
