Business Communication Program

Welcome to the Business Communication Program offered by External Education at the University of Illinois at Chicago!

The way you communicate within the workplace encompasses all the ways you influence others through the presentation of yourself. Whether it's how you sound and look, carry on a conversation, develop arguments or talk about your successes, people significant to your business future are judging you.

Program Benefits
External Education's Business Communication Program provides participants with a pathway to a stronger, more successful business presence. The courses that comprise the Program are designed and presented by leading experts in the field in order to help individuals develop and refine their business communication skills.

The Business Communication Program is intended for professionals interested in expanding their business communication capacities and overcoming common communication barriers. Participants of the Program will become well-rounded in written business communication, conflict management, effective argumentation, business conversational skills and more.


Who Should Register?

The Business Communication Program is designed for business professionals at all management levels. In addition to practical classroom discussions, the Program also incorporates case studies, guest lecturers, group projects, and technology into the program curriculum.

Certificate Program Structure
The Program is a non-credit professional development program, consisting of four core courses and several elective courses. To earn your Business Communication certificate* from the University of Illinois at Chicago, you must complete the four required core courses and as well as one elective course of your choice.

If the certificate* program is not right for you, you may enroll in individual courses; each course is offered once or twice a year. Registration is easy, there is no need to apply to the University or submit transcripts or recommendation letters.
