What is a virtual open house?
A virtual open house allows prospective students the opportunity to meet faculty, learn about the program and communicate with current students. The open house is held entirely online and is conveniently accessible from anywhere with a computer and an Internet connection.
Potential EMCP students who RSVP for the virtual open house will learn what it takes to succeed as an online student as well as the benefits of the EMCP program and online learning in general. Event participants will be presented with information about the EMCP program and will have the opportunity to directly interact with with EMCP program directors, instructors, students and program support staff.

Once you RSVP, you will receive a confirmation e-mail that includes additional information regarding creating an account, testing your system and logging in on the day of the event.
Who will I meet during the virtual open house?
Program directors will provide an overview of the EMCP program and
will be online afterwards to answer questions.
Course instructors will speak about making the most of the online learning environment as well as tips for being a successful online student.
Current students will be online to answer questions about what attracted them to the EMCP program, what they learned in the program and how that knowledge either applies to their jobs
or how it is preparing them for a future opportunity.
Enrollment management and student communications coordinators will answer questions about applying and admission to the program.
Technical Requirements
The virtual open house will take place in a UIC "e-Room". e-Rooms support a wide range of communication modalities including
audio chat (sometimes called "Voice Over IP or "VoIP"), text chat, application sharing, real-time polling, video and Web browsing. The system can be accessed with a standard PC based Web browser. Unfortunately, Mac users must find alternative means to participate (Mac support is coming soon).
Equipment
Those who RSVP will be able to communicate during the virtual open house through the use of the text chat tool. Users who wish to participate in audio chat during the virtual open house must have a sound card, speakers and a microphone.
